This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to apply, maintain and remove nails using gel and ‘dip powder’.
It requires the ability to consult with clients, select suitable products and techniques, and apply nail enhancements using gel or dip powder techniques. These nail enhancement services can be an individual service or form part of a series of services.
This unit applies to beauticians, beauty therapists and nail technicians who work in beauty and nail salons, and spas. In this environment they may work in a team or autonomously. They have knowledge and skills of nail products and application techniques.
The skills in this unit must be applied in accordance with Commonwealth and State or Territory legislation, Australian standards and industry codes of practice.
